Dunno enough about the specifically Canadian question, though it sounds bloody typical of politicians in general. As for Basra, it reminds me horribly of the way the ordinary folk of Northern Ireland started by welcoming the troops in Ulster and ended by hating their guts. We're well on our way down that track now, I think.

As for Blair, he should take a long walk off a short cliff. With many of his cronies.

I'm no longer expecting any sense from humans. Perhaps it will be a turning point for me.

I only wish I could believe it will be electoral suicide for Harper, but it won't be. Ontarians are much more concerned with their tax breaks than they are with federal-provincial financial affairs, though. A lot of people seem to really like this budget.

A Smooth Transition

Today, Brown and various cabinet ministers have been talking about a "smooth transition" from Blair to Brown.

They seem to completely forget that there is a small matter of an election, albeit by the members of the Labour Party.

I really hope they ignore Brown - that would be such fun!

Yes! For once I agree with George Galloway.
