Not such a bright idea

I thought it might help my shoulder if I went for a gentle swim. I was wrong. Breaststroke hurt. Crawl felt like someone was doing exploratory surgery without an anaesthetic. I lasted two lengths. This sucks.

Date: 2006-05-14 07:51 pm (UTC)There are a number of stretches and stuff you could try - but if it still hurts after all the ibuprofen and after a week of rest - I guess you are looking at the physio.
Did you put ice on it after the swimming ? You obivously aggravated it again - bah.

Date: 2006-05-14 08:08 pm (UTC)Have you ever damaged your bursa? If it was a side on impact that you took at rugby - it could be that - but the Ibuprofen should take care of it.
Are any of the muscles still tender to touch?
I also found the only way to sleep was Superman style, with a pillow under my armpit.
Wish I could offer some more support - but it could just be a case of time on this, as long as you do gentle stretching (crawling your hands up the wall etc...)
