Exactly. I've heard an Israeli spokesman on NPR (sorry, no cite) claim that the Israelis are going the Lebanese a favor by getting rid of Hezbollah for them. I have no idea whether he expected to be believed.

Presumably what's left of the Lebanese government will use what's left of their army to crush Hizbullah when they finally feel they've had enough?
