On yer bike

It's a rather lovely late summer, early fall day here. It's around 20C and quite breezy. The sun is shining and there are white caps on the lake. I just back from riding my bike out along the lake to RC Harris Filtration Plant [1] and back. Slowish going eastbound because of the wind. Back in a flash. I detoured via the point at Ashridge's Bay Park on the way back to watch people out sailing on the lake and a young loon fishing. I saw a snake on Cherry St too. All in all it was very pleasant.
I got back to my morning chuckle via
springheel_jack: ICE arrests 15 aliens in Roswell.
fn1: Filtration plants aren't usually of much interest but the RC Harris is a rather beautiful complex of art deco buildings set on lawns sloping back from the lake. Readers of Michael Ondaatje's In the Skin of a Lion will recognise it. Unfortunately the grounds, which are normally open to the public, are closed due to construction work.
