In praise of early mornings
Sep. 4th, 2006 01:07 pmI decided to get some exercise in this morning so I headed out around 9am to cycle west along the lake. It was a good fast ride all the way to Mimico Creek where the wastes of Mississauga begin. My friend C. lives out that way so I dropped in on her for a cup of coffee and a chat before heading back. I guess it was around 11am when I set off home. I think by then every asshole in Southern Ontario was heading either for the CNE or the Airshow because the multi-use trail was virtually uncyclable from High Park to past the Ex. Is it really asking too much for pedestrians on a multi-use trail to keep their eyes open and their toddlers under control? Oh, and Marilyn Bell Park has once again been turned from a fairly pleasant park into a muddy parking lot.

Not that sitting in the sun doing nothing or walking no place in particular is so bad but, I'm desperate for a coherent conversation that's actually about something...and your cooking of course.

Date: 2006-09-04 08:02 pm (UTC)I resorted to buying a bicycle bell. And I never use the old railway track cycle route-cum-walking-trail on Bank Holidays.
