Not too bad
Sep. 10th, 2006 05:28 pmI played for an hour this afternoon. It was a good game marred by ghastly refereeing. I walked off at half time because of it but my team mates talked me into playing on. I can live with bad refereeing, it's a fact of life, but refereeing that's so random that guys are taking the law into their own hands to a frightening degree is something else. Two weeks running now I've watched a really bad accident waiting to happen and I don't think that makes sense for a bunch of has beens who are out for a Sunday afternoon run.
The good news for me is that I was playing with much more confidence. I'm not 100% but it's getting there. Part of the problem is I'm not match fit of course but I was hitting rucks and mauls, taking the ball into contact etc pretty much as I should. My tackling is still tentative, especially when it involves some 300# mastodon running straight at me and my ball handling is not what it should be but the improvement on last week was significant.
