We would like to know who really believes in World Peace and Universal Siblinghood on LiveJournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in World Peace and Universal Siblinghood, then repost this and title the post as "World Peace and Universal Siblinghood". If you don't believe in World Peace and Universal Siblinghood, then you can sod off. Thanks.

ETA note: If the snarkiness of this entry isn't obvious (and it doesn't seem to be) see here and here.

If you don't post that kicking puppies is evil, that means you go around looking for puppies to kick and encouraging other people to kick them too.

Acvtually the cats pay me to kick puppies for them and I need the work.

I wasn't sure what to make of this, until I read [livejournal.com profile] oursin's entry. Now all is clear.

I am offended, on behalf of only children everywhere, by your use of the word "siblinghood." How dare you imply that those without siblings are inferior!

Goddess help me if I'd used "Brotherhood"!

Believe in what way?

Believe it would be a good thing - yes.

Belive it exists - no.

OK, I'll get my coat, then...

I was riffing on the "Gay Rights" meme that's doing the rounds.

When there was the anti-racism thing a while ago, I felt honour bound to join in.

Gay rights doesn't move me in the same way.

I'd better sod off, then...

Actually, having checked out your links, I think the difference between the anti-racism meme and the pro-gay rights meme is that the former was asking people to express their experiences, whereas the latter is just a cut-and-paste-and-feel-good activity.

I'm not allowed to see the first entry (for ideological reasons?), but judging by the second, it seems to be the usual 'if you're not with us, you're against us' mixed with a little of the old 'have you stopped beating your spouse yet?' pseudo-conundrum.

THANK YOU. This came across my friends page this morning, and I'm glad I wasn't he only one put off by it. [livejournal.com profile] oursin's take on it was right on the mark.

I'm all for posting dumb memes, usually as a time-waster, but the coersion aspect of this sort of "meme" really bugs me.

I saw this before any people on my list posted that dreadful meme and thought that maybe I got lucky. Sadly, I didn't. :-(

*blush* I didn't spot it no, since I saw the Gay Rights one after I saw yours.

I'm all for the Peace, but siblings bicker, so I'm not all with the Siblinghood. I'll partly sod off then, shall I?

*applauds* I have nothing more clever than that to say. (Where can I get a puppy-kicking gig? It sounds awesome!)

Happily,my friendslist folk are such delightful, cynical snarkmonsters that, the only version of the 'evil people fail to imitate this' meme to appear on my friends page, was courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] frobzwiththingz

"Logical fallacies 101

If you agree with Fred Phelps and his band of merry morons, then post this statement, along with an authenticated and notarized JPG of the Flying Spaghetti Monster sneezing our universe into existence via His Noodly Appendage, into your LJ.

If you think gay folk are people too, just ignore this.

It's just as bogus, but now, via the Principle of Superposition, folk who do nothing are morally OK again, i guess."
