Soundtrack Sheepery
Oct. 13th, 2006 11:35 amFrom all over:
If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be?
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...
Opening Credits:
Beth Orton, Shadow of a Doubt
You go your way my love
Waking Up
Nic Jones, Reel
well that's about what I do until the coffee's made
First Day At School
Billy Bragg, Man in the Iron Mask
When he drops you off, I will not say
Who was that who so quickly drove away...
Falling In Love
Phil Ochs, Here's to the State of Mississippi
Here's to the land you have torn the heart of
Fight Song
The Kipper Family, All on the Shore
I opened his bowels and pulled out his feet
Breaking Up
Julie Murphy and Dylan Fowler, Y Ddau Farch
Welsh seems appropriate. I'm used to getting spat in the face at close range.
Prom
Billy Bragg, Rotting on Remand
I was picked up on suspicion
For something I hadn't done
Life is Good:
Toronto Consort, The Maiden's Song
Well the title is promising but it's just instrumental. The story of my life.
Mental Breakdown
The Tiger Lilies, Fidgety Phil
Philip screams with all his might.
Catches at the cloth, but then
That makes matters worse again.
Down upon the ground they fall.
Glasses, plates, knives, forks and all.
Drivin
Wagner, The Usual Storm, The Usual Storm
But I must be steadfast
Flashback
Holst, Cradle Song
OK, that's far enough!
Getting Back Together
Victor Jara, La Luna Siempre Es Muy Linda
Well I guess so.
Mushy interlude.
Billy Bragg, Sugardaddy
Not sure about this ...
Wedding
Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band, All Hail the Pow'r of Jesus' Name
Crown him ye martyrs of our God
The Night Before The War
Joan Sutherland, Einsam in Trueben Tagen (Lohengrin)
A palpable hit.
Final Battle
Sibillar gli angui d'Aletto from Handel's Rinaldo
Suitably martial.
Moment of Triumph
Come nube che fugge dal vento from Handel's Agrippina
Now that's a really odd image.
Death Scene
Warlock, Lusty Juventus
In Youth is pleasure
Funeral Song
Gioie e Certo, from Handel's Lothario
I can imagine any number of people wanting to sing that at my funeral.
End Credits
A Toy when it was in the Waters from Wagner's Rhinegold
Kind of sums it up really.
