Colour me suspicious

Colour me suspicious but I don't believe a word of what the LJ corporate lackeys are saying about the current service disruption. Apparently a full system outage was caused by scheduled maintenance on one of two power supplies. That just doesn't compute. They obviously ballsed something up but aren't saying.
Currently, Live Journal Status Report has a message timed 4.38 pm GMT that reads:
Now, 4.38pm GMT is 8.38am PST (ie local to the data centre) which isn't evening by even California standards. It looks like they are trying to hide the fact that they have been clueless since some time yesterday evening California time by messing with the time stamp but not editing the message. This would at least be consistent with the apparent timing of the outage.
So odds on some kind of refund or even an apology?

Our data center is currently performing maintenance on one of our two power feeds this evening. LiveJournal is currently unavailable at this time. We are working on restoring access as quickly as possible.

It is still being dead slow in the UK.

Date: 2006-11-05 06:58 am (UTC)I seem to recall that paid users were credited with extra time after the Great Livejournal Blackout of 2005, but then that was pre-Six Apart...
