What are Mondays for?

With due trepidation I opened my rugby bag this morning to extract liquid essence of Port Colborne and my kit. The kit has been through the washer once but is now back on for a second go around. I had to take the laces out of my boots before I could clean them, so thickly encrusted was the mud. This is a bit of a worry as my boots are from New Zealand. Apparently Kiwis use the energy and creativity that other nations use for, e.g. building the Hubbell Telescope or painting the Sistine Chapel ceiling, for designing ever more involved systems for lacing rugby boots. I can see that once everything is finally clean and dry I will have several hours fun, probably with the aid of an algebraic topology textbook, before I will have functioning boots again.
