I came to Terry Pratchett late in life but I have discovered great wisdom in his works. Few truer things have ever been written than "the second rat gets the cheese". I published about business being all about processes over a year before Michael Hammer cleaned up with the same idea. I have a fair claim to have invented trade marketing, now one of the central pillars of the FMCG industry. Fat lot of good it ever did me because I never dumbed it down enough to make it intelligible to CEOs. First rat, that's me.
