Yesterday was a funny old day

I'm not at all sure that I didn't have a migraine yesterday. I used to have them, almost invariably on weekends, quite often but I haven't really had one since I went on Sertraline about ten years ago. I recently I switched meds so who knows. Anyway, much of yesterday was spent in very close proximity to the big white telephone and it took Gravol to stop me vomitting.

I did watch Fellini's 8 1/2 with the lemur though. I saw this flick when I was a teenager but I haven't seen it since and it was high on my list of films that a reasonably cultured person ought to have seen. I like it a lot. It's very beautiful, slightly absurd, has the obligatory marching band of circus freaks etc. In other words it's everything that gritty post war social realist film isn't. It made me laugh out loud in places and then there are the hats. Rarely can a more absurd collection of headgear have been assembled in one place though the Congress of Vienna may have come close. Recommended. Bonus, the Criterion Collection DVD has an intro by Terry Gilliam.

Ow, not good at all. I hope the migraine has gone away by now, and that it'll be just a one-off.

I haven't seen 8 1/2 for *years*! I think there must have been a Fellini season on TV when I was in the sixth form, because I remember seeing some then, and liking them. Thanks for the pointer to that edition - I'll keep an eye open for it...
