Cold Comfort Farm
Apr. 19th, 2007 06:26 pmI've just had much fun listening to a very good radio (BBC) adaptation of Stella Gibbons' Cold Comfort Farm. Much as I enjoyed the recent film adaptation, radio is much better for bringing out the literary parody elements. I also liked the 'promised' sequel in which, inter alia, Erk and the Beetle family jazz band win the Eurovision song contest with My Liddle Watervole.

I still miss Radio 4, there seems to be nothing like it anywhere else. I am very grateful for their listen again sections.
