Yeah, I thought that too. Not the Toronto bit, clearly. But I completed my marathon in late June (true, I was walking rather than running; but I walked a lot faster than many people ran), and it was mid 20s (this is Edinburgh I'm talking about). Fuss about nothing!
Well, yes. But one doesn't expect it in April in Britain. And everyone will have been training in the cold and wet of a British winter, so they're not yet acclimatised.
The next major marathon in the UK will probably be run in June in a snowstorm and we'll have, "Runners brave cold snap," headlines. *g*
