Has anyone listened to either Hut 33 or Acropolis Now? They sound quite promising, especially the former but I haven't had a chance to listen yet.

I've definitely heard a bit of Hut 33, and I wasn't terribly impressed. But I don't generally like the comedy-drama stuff.

It's by the same folks who did Think the Unthinkablewhich I found screamingly funny at times but maybe that's because I'm a management consultant.

I liked Think the Unthinkable. But I didn't hear much of Hut 33.

I listened to about 10 minutes of Hut 33 on my way to the gym yesterday - couldn't see any drama, but the comedy was quite good. A tad homophobic, racist, sexist and class obsessed, so all the elements of classic English comedy in place, then... I think it's pitched about the same place as Andy Hamilton's U.S. Rebellion comedy.

I may have just caught it at a bad time.

Or maybe I caught it at a good one?

I have heard Acropolis Now, though only intermittently - it was quite amusing. It might have been an Andy Hamilton, though I can't swear to it.

Wiki says it's a Lynne Truss. The jokes veered from clever to daft, and were a fairly even mix of the two.

It wasn't the worst of recent Radio 4 comedy dramas (there's so much competition), but it wasn't the best either.

I thought Acropolis Now was a Joe Jackson song? As such, it's very good. Although better if you've read "A Cure For Gravity" and therefore have a clue what it's doing in the middle of the album.

If Acropolis Now is the one I am thinking of, it wasn't too good. Bad jokes not made funnier by setting it in ancient Athens.
