I'm wondering why you are using a naked woman for your avatar today.

I wonder how they managed to make that offer? It surely must be a case of 'insert language name here' and they forgot to customise for the dead ones. When I was 13 I proudly, and geekily, wore a little badge that said I LOVE LATIN that my Latin teacher gave us all. Brainwashing pedagogue that she was. [cringe].

Well yesterday I was engaged in a discussion on the relative naughtiness of the text of Wilde's Salomé and the Beardsley illustrations, which led to consideration of the relative naughtiness of the Beardsley and Picasso illustrations for Lysistrata and also had me thinking about the Derain and Beardsley Salomé illustrations. Which led me to check out a few other Derain illustrations including one from his woodcuts for Apollinaire's L'Enchanteur Pourissant, which I liked so I turned it into an avatar.

I confess at 13 I would happily have worn an I loathe and detest Latin badge.

Including documents on aerospace, I note. The linguistic census of India apparently always gets a few people putting down their mother-tongue as Sanskrit (improbable), but who are these people who claim to have lisped in Latin? Does this company have a functioning time-machine? Or have they located a Lost Tribe of Rome? (sort of like those groups in N America which are supposed to speak ye genuine Shakespearean English.)
