Not with a bang but a whimper

We have our last regular season U16 game scheduled on Sunday. It's clear that we don't have a team so we'll scratch and so will end our season. Some of the more physically mature boys will continue with the U18s so that's some consolation but not much. We started the season with a strong squad of around 20 players which would have made us very competitive but we have lost ten players to injury and provincial representative teams. Even without the inevitable summer vacations, camp etc that would have crippled us. Next year maybe.

That's a shame. But it's clearly not for lack of interest or talent - in which you've played a part, too. The injuries are bad luck, but I guess that the provincial teams are something of an ongoing hazard, if you have a strong squad. Do you need to start with an even larger squad?
