No weddings and a funeral

It wasn't really a funeral. It was the memorial party for my uncle who died earlier in the week, but Sheena read the Auden poem that features in the movie. Apart from Chris' sons; Neill and Ian, I was the only blood relative there. It's part of the immigrant experience. It was positive. It was a celebration not an outpouring of grief. I met my cousins who I have seen far too little of. We took the kittens because they had to be fed. Somehow it seemed fitting. How better to celebrate a life than with new life?

I am quite sad. I am now the third oldest living male in the clan.
