Having bowled the Tykes out for 144 Lancashire are now 383/2 with Hodge on 149 n.o. and Law 159 n.o. I wonder how often in a first innings two batsmen have each scored more than the opposition's total?
With regard to your question, I don't know how often, but I knew I'd seen one recently: Jahurul Islam and Naeem Islam (http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Scorecards/107/107053.html) both scored more than Barisal managed in either innings (though not both put together).
There was also that Test where Matthew Hayden outscored both Pakistan innings single-handed (http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Scorecards/75/75628.html).
It ought to be a little bit soothing for English people that it's Horton and not Hodge, although Horton himself was born and brought up in Sydney. Meantime, India annihilate the England second string bowling attack on the flattest pitch in the world. Not a great day for Blighty.
