Around 20 cm of snow has fallen since the storm blew in around 6am today. Contrary to dire predictions from the usual coterie of Toronto bashers, the city has not come to a halt and, so far, the army has not been brought in. The buses and street cars are running. The roads are passable and there is some traffic on the Gardiner (silly buggers). There was thunder and lightning over the lake which is always fun to watch during a snow storm.

Last night's Santarchy was not especially well attended but the customary raid on the eaton Centre happened. It must be winter or something.

Most of Canada other than Toronto falls into this category and we haven't been able to live down the choice of a former mayor to call in the army (http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-69-2013-12772-11/on_this_day/life_society/twt) to help with the snowstorm.

I was actually just driving through the snow (yes, I'm one of those silly buggers) and the buses aren't handling it very well. But overall, the roads are actually pretty good.
