Refereeing part 1
Jan. 19th, 2008 06:52 amThis refereeing course is not quite what i expected. I thought I was signing up for the old "Intro to Refereeing" course but it seems that I am, in fact, part of a new IRB experiment to get people to IRB Level 2 certification in one season. Last night was far more 'hands on' than I expected and was largely based on reffing imaginary rugby games in the gym. This is a very odd thing to do.
I had no idea that there is only one brand of approved referee whistle. Only the "Thunderer" is capable of the subtle range of tone and volume that a rugby referee must matter.
