So there I am trying figure out the name of the "You are *** and I claim my five pounds". My approach, earnestly perusing Gilbert Adair's "Myths and Memories" and "The Invention of Tradition" ed Hobsbawm & Ranger. What does pookee do? She finds the answer in a couple of nanoseconds on Google. Duh!

Always remember the old adage:

'Google Is Your Friend'

:-)

'The Invention of Tradition' sounds very familiar to me. Is it a CUP book, by any chance?

It's brought back a few memories, actually. I should explain that I worked for CUP for around 7 years. Every now and again someone will mention a book title that sounds familiar (but definitely not something I'd have read) and it's usually a CUP one. I've a feeling that was in the 'Canto' range when I worked there, another reason I might've remembered it.

Fancy, someone actually reading a CUP book ;-)

You would be hard pressed to find a press (except maybe Harlequin) that isn't represented somewhere in this place.
