It was quite a busy weekend. Saturday was mostly about the rugby though I did get to do my company accounts for 2007 before going out. I left stupidly early having completely forgotten how little time it actually takes to get to Ajax. No harm done really though. The game was quite tough (Ajax Wanderers II vs York Yeomen II). I don't think it was my best performance at all. I was put off my game a bit by the amount of yapping. I need to learn to tune it out. Both sides complained about dirty play off the ball but I didn't see any bar one punch to the chest as a guy went into contact. I penalised it but didn't think it was worth a card. Tthere was only one very minor flare up so this certainly wasn't the late unlamented Yeothugs. Their president, Dom Scuglia, was there which probably helped. He is all around a class act. My old team mate Stevie Hensman played the second half for Ajax and, yes, I did ping him for a penalty once. It wasn't a bad game but I can do better. We were tentatively scheduled to go to a Nomads BBQ in the evening but the location was shifted to a less interesting one and anyway I was knackered so we skipped that.

Sunday was all about the chores. I was up at 0500 which is a bit useless on a Sunday as nothing much opens until noon. Anyways, the recycling got taken care of, the booze bottles went back to the store, we bought a new cat carrier and I ripped the storage unit apart and reorganized it minus three supermarket cartloads of junk. There is now a bit of spoare space down there. Somewhere along the line we fitted in a supermarket run so we now have coffee again. Later on I watched chunks of the ROH La Fille du Regiment (same production as the Met) in between cooking and doing laundry. We finished up with an OK Thai meal; lon kapi and veggies, grilled eggplant salad, Burmese style pork curry and long beans with tofu and roasted chilli paste (the last two from the freezer). I think we also managed to find a decent wine partnering; Hernder Estates Morio Muscat. It worked really well.

Sounds really like a good, productive, not too stressful weekend!
