The walk to work this morning was horrible. In the last 48 hours we have had all known forms of precipitation meaning that yet'reen the sidewalks were inches deep in slush. Overnight it froze into slippy, uneven ruts. Navigating that on a duff ankle resulted in me arriving at work grey with pain. Then to cap it all I blacked out at lunchtime. I was sitting in a restaurant in Scarberia having lunch with a colleague and a business partner when I just blacked out and fell off my chair, unconscious, to the floor. Fortunately I didn't hit my head or anything and I was OK again after a fe minutes but it really wasn't something I needed.

That's awful. Do you have any idea why you blacked out? It sounds scary enough to be something worth looking into.

Yes! I agree.

It's not the first time it has happened and it appears to be pain related. Last time I spent six hours in the hospital and they couldn't find anything wrong.

Come to think of it, I spent two hours in the hospital this afternoon but that was work related.

Not good. Are you feeling okay, not queasy? And you're going to go work somewhere even colder and slushier? Are you mad? Okay, that was a silly question.

GOOD GOD that is a terrible story. I do wish you and your ankles a speedy recovery.

I hope you feel better soon. That sounds horrible.

Ouch in all manner of ways. When are you getting a check up?

Good. Any useful results?

No, everything pretty much normal.

Well that's useful in itself. I'll be over just as soon as I can collect three ultimately useless but photogenic assistants and an elephant-sized stash of percodan. Or is that some type of coffee?
In either case, take care of yourself till I get there.

Eek. Any more conclusions than last time? Or do you have to wait for results?

I didn't get checked out today. It was three or four weeks ago but I was in normal good health.

Oh my goodness, I'm sorry.

The walking - in the morning and at lunchtime - must have been both difficult and hugely painful, and a stress that can't have helped you in general. But that's worrying, I'm sorry. Take care of yourself. P.

Sounds like you need a day off, or at least off your feet.

I suspect it was a reaction to Scarborough, or perhaps the colleagues. Hopefully they won't joke about it for too long...

best of health!

Ouch. You take care of yourself. Can you work from home for a day or two to give that ankle a rest?

Well I have physio tomorrow and the office is on the way to physio so maybe I should stop by.

Are you sure the blackout wasn't due to excessive exposure to deepest, darkest Scarberia?

On the bright side of all this, at least you managed to make the meeting exciting.
