Severe thunderstorm warning for
City of Toronto issued

At 4:50 PM EDT radar shows a line of severe thunderstorms approaching western end of Lake Ontario. Thunderstorms are expected to reach Toronto by 5;30 PM. Wind gusts to 100 km/h large hail and heavy downpours are expected. Damages have been reported between Lake Huron and Kitchener.

This is a warning that severe thunderstorms are imminent or occurring in these regions. Remember some severe thunderstorms produce tornadoes..Listen for updated warnings. Emergency management Ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening weather approaches.

We are fine. The storms pretty much missed Toronto. We got high winds for a short while and a bit of lightning. Apparently they recorded gusts of 115 km/h at the airport. There is lots of damage SW of the city and in the Ottawa region though. Hydro are reporting 40,000 people are still without power this morning.
