Done, finally
Dec. 9th, 2006 03:36 pmOver the last few weeks I've been gradually transferring out CD and DVD collection from their cases to binders. They are now all 'bindered', in a logical and organised way, except for things like boxed sets with big thick libretti. I didn't count but I estimate I moved around a thousand disks freeing up four media storage cabinets and two bookshelves. This produced about twenty carrier bags full of CD and DVD cases. Half of these have been freecycled. If anyone wants the rest and is prepared to pick them up, shout now. The plan now is to take out three of the media cabinets and put an extra book case (much needed) in their place.
I did find some duplicates during the process (proof that I did indeed organise stuff). Up for grabs are Eliza Carthy's Red and Rice albums, Klemperer's recording of Mahler 2, Tippett's Piano Concerto and Ritual Dances (BBCSO, Hurst) and Countertenor duets by Purcell and Blow (Bowman/Chance). I'd be happy to send them to a good home.
