Intelligent design
Dec. 23rd, 2005 08:37 amYesterday, courtesy of a pointer from
ajhalluk, I ploughed through the full report of the court in the Dover School Board case. I recommend it for two reasons. There is some truly splendid judicial snark at the well deserved expense of the members of the school board but, more importantly, it shows the religious right in action. Their modus operandi reveals both breath taking ignorance and a complete lack of scruple evidenced by, among other things, a willingness to lie under oath, contempt for the law and the constitution and highly selective memory. The only thing I can think of in defence of their position is that it seems improbable that the members of the Dover School Board could have evolved from something as intelligent as apes.
