The BBC has started broadcasting a new adaptation of A Dance to the Music of Time. It is utterly execrable; 11 on the 10 point whale dreck scale. The fact that the first episode is entitled "Sex" should have been warning enough. It's as if somebody wrote really atrocious slashy AP fanfic and posted it on Live Journal where somebody from the BBC read it and decided it would be funny to inflict six hours of it on the unsuspecting public. It's probably the product of one of those people whose academic reputation has been damaged by the revival in AP's reputation. Really this has to mark a new low for the BBC.
