Sunday

I spent Sunday morning repairing Shaeffer Touchdowns (three of them) and listing stuff on eBay before going out for lunch with lemur_catta, cassandre and her partner M. I had a most enjoyable time as we ate our way through a pretty decent selection of dim sum and chatted about all kinds of stuff. Certainly it was the first time I had discussed Marx' Labour theory of Value in quite a while. A pleasant walk back to their hotel via the Kensington Market followed though I think our guests were somewhat surprised when a bunch of guys who were fishing out of a second floor window started shouting at me. Less of a surprise to me seeing as it was a bunch of nomads who had successfully prolonged Saturday night into Sunday afternoon.

On the way home we stopped by HMV and I scored the new Isobel Bayrakdarian CD of arias from four baroque operas about Cleopatra. It's really quite excellent so any opera fans out there run out and buy it!

Desk pen

So I now have a real desk pen. It's a shame I don't have a real desk to put it on but there you go. And it's a Shaeffer Snorkel; one of the most heath Robinson devices ever invented. I did all the necessary sac and seal replacements and it all works fine. It has even been used to write a cheque for the the tax man.
