We are having a bit of an unseasonal warm spell right now. The weekend was warm and sunny enough to be sitting outside drinking beer after the game on Saturday and today I went running in shorts and tee shirt which I haven't been able to do for a couple of weeks now. In fact last week I was running in tights and a wind jacket and still getting pretty cold doing it. The forecast suggests it may stay warmish all week. That would be really nice!

Have you ever had the experience of learning a word in a foreign language that you understand perfectly but have no real idea what the equivalent is in your native tongue? An example for me is "draveur" which is the French-Canadian word (I don't know if it exists in Metropolitan French) for the guy who keeps the logs moving on a river drive. Is there an English equivalent? FWIW I came across this one while trying to be a good Canadian and read some of the Quebecois classics like Maria Chapdelaine and, in this case, Menaud, Maitre-Draveur.

So Bell, Pietersen and Collingwood chipped in a grand total of 4 runs in the 1st innings at Rawalpindi. That should really help sort out the batting line up for the tests.
