Suffering from cabin fever I ventured out into the rapidly cooling outside world today. I treated myself to a copy of the volume of the latest Penguin History of Britain dealing with the 200 years or so after 1066. I noticed that the volume on the Tudor period was written by Susan Brigden whose brother was in the same year and house as me at school. Indeed he was one of the best props I've played rugby with. No mean consideration since in my early youth I played hooker. Anyway, further indulgence presented itself and I had lunch at C'est What. This is probably the first meal I have had in a month that I haven't had to share with LJGK which was nice. The beer was good too. I also got to read the first few chapters of my book. I had no idea that the area governed by the kings of Scotland in the 11th century was so limited. Now I am being assaulted by kittens again and need a nap.
