The Barber of Seville.
Apr. 28th, 2008 09:37 amWe watched the DVD of the Netherlands Opera production of Rossini's "The Barber of Seville" last night. This is the production that was directed by Dario Fo. It's ver commedia in style and very effective. I'm a big fan of Fo having seen both Accidental death of an Anarchist and Can't Pay, Won't Pay. It's a fun production. The singing is good and visually it is very effective. Here's a pretty typical excerpt.
