We watched the DVD of the Netherlands Opera production of Rossini's "The Barber of Seville" last night. This is the production that was directed by Dario Fo. It's ver commedia in style and very effective. I'm a big fan of Fo having seen both Accidental death of an Anarchist and Can't Pay, Won't Pay. It's a fun production. The singing is good and visually it is very effective. Here's a pretty typical excerpt.

Here are four pictures from the Flickr set that I just created of the whole of my copy of The Old Stile Press edition of The Dreamsong of Olaf Åsteson, an early medieval Norwegian poem. It is illustrated with woodcuts by Maryclare Foa and bound in pitch pine boards by Habib Dingle. The full Flickr set contains 42 images.
