Last night Toronto had its hottest night since records began. At its lowest point the mercury dipped to a chilly 27C. It was likely a couple of degrees cooler down here by the lake but the humidity is correspondingly higher. Right now its 25C and 91% humidity. The Forecast is calling for 36C later in the day and there are Humidex and smog warnings in effect. It really, really sucks.

Presumably Toronto's a bit better prepared for the heat than the UK is, isn't it?

Still good luck with remaining as cool as possible in the heat.

I don't know about "better prepared". I guess it isn't seen as an excuse for stuff not working but it's not much fun if one has to be out and about in the heat. There has really been no let up for weeks now. Maybe one day in the last month when it got pleasantly cool overnight.
