Hateful word of the day

Can I just say that the word 'ontologizing' is vile and disgusting? It's bad enough that the IT world has hijacked 'ontology' to mean a controlled vocabulary crossed with an entity relationship diagram but to turn it into a verb is beyond unspeakable.

I ... I don't know what to say. What in the hell is 'ontologizing'? What is 'ontology' outside of philosophy? I am sooooo behind the times on the latest technobabble, clearly.

Clearly, it's the process of making something ontologized; although that only works if it's ontologizable in the first place. I wonder if there's a test to determine something's degree of ontologizability?
